The question has been pouring in: “What happens to gold during a deflation? Of course, many of my readers are equally if not more interested in what happens to silver in a deflation as well.
The views on this topic vary. Some insist that both metals will do well under almost any economic conditions; some, like Bob Prechter, think neither gold nor silver will do well; and others, like Jim Sinclair and Bob Hoye, believe gold and gold alone will be the only thing left standing.
In all matters such as these, studying the past can be beneficial, but-as you have read so many times before-knowing the past is not a guarantee of future results. Personally, I like to let the market speak, and for many years I have forecast that a day would come when the price of the physical silver market would separate from the price “set” in New York or London. Alas, this is the case when looking at the retail market versus the commercial market.
In all fairness, the COMEX price is being used as predicted to capture profits by purchasing COMEX bars and selling 100-oz. silver bars. Jason Hommel of Silver Stock Report has stated:
“I own over 200,000 oz. of silver. I’m not selling out. I’m only selling 12,500 ounces, and I plan to buy more silver, cheaper, but in a different form, such as 1000 oz. bars.

You’ve just gotten engaged. Of course, your relationship is unique and you want an engagement as unique and valuable as your love. Why not use platinum?
Platinum has become the new standard of the highest quality. Credit card companies now tout their platinum cards. Where once a performer coveted receiving a gold record, platinum is now the mark to shoot for. Thus platinum engagement and wedding rings mark your relationship as the standard to shoot for too.
Most people think platinum is a newcomer among the precious metals. Actually it was known in ancient Egypt as early as 700 B.C., so it is an old metal. There are records of platinum/gold alloys in South Africa in 100 B.C. Scientifically, platinum was recognized as an element in 1700 A.D. but not really used much in jewelry until the early 20th century.
Platinum is used much more today but it is still rare and expensive, 30 times more rare than gold. In its natural state, it is grayish white. When used in jewelry, it is paired with iridium (in a ratio of 90 percent platinum to 10 percent iridium) to make it shine. Platinum is very malleable and more resistant to wear and oxidation than gold.
If you choose a platinum engagement or promise ring , be careful: Platinum has been known to cause skin rashes. It also can tarnish easily. But keep in mind that more people are known to be allergic to gold than to platinum. As long as you try platinum rings on first to test your sensitivity, you should be safe. For the most part, platinum rings very little maintenance and will keep their brand-new appearance for a long time.

It’s always difficult to get a unique and special gift for the bride. A fianc or the prospective mother-in-law might be wishing for a gift that will last for years as a wonderful treasure, long after the wedding day is over. An excellent gift option is bride charm bracelets.
There are many different categories, styles and designs for charm bracelets and finding the perfect one for the bride won’t be hard at all. A beautiful bride charm bracelet could easily complete the bridal ensemble with “something new.” It’s best to choose a bracelet that will be suitable and match the bride’s overall look on the special day. Choosing the same type of jewelry (gold, silver, titanium etc) and adding little elegant charms or engravings on it will add more value to the gift. As a charm bracelet can be modified by adding different charms over a long period, this gift will give the bride something special to add to as time goes by.
Gifting bride charm bracelets is indeed a great idea. They are not only special gifts for the bride, but can also be for the bridesmaids. Although the charm bracelets given to the bride and bridesmaid mustn’t be of the exact design, they can be matched and individualized at the same time. Charm bracelets are always great gifts for special events.
